Washington, D.C., October 18, 2016 – SimpleFuel™, the finalist of the H2 Refuel H-Prize, has announced their open house for November 9th, 2016 in Warminster, PA, providing an opportunity for the public to get a first look at their hydrogen refueling system in action, and allowing visitors to ride and drive a fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV).
The SimpleFuel™ team, made up of Ivys Energy Solutions, McPhy Energy North America and PDC Machines, designed their system to be a safe, small-scale hydrogen refueling appliance. SimpleFuel’s entry was selected by an independent panel of judges and safety experts to reach the finalist stage of the U.S. Department of Energy’s H2 Refuel H-Prize Competition, which is administered by the Hydrogen Education Foundation (HEF).
SimpleFuel™ has designed an integrated hydrogen generation, compression, storage and dispensing appliance, capable of delivering 5 kg/day of hydrogen to vehicles at pressures up to 700 bar. The H2 Refuel H-Prize targeted small-scale systems that could provide an additional pathway for expanding the hydrogen delivery and dispensing infrastructure for FCEVs across the country.
The system was built and installed over the summer at PDC’s facility in Warminster, PA, where the appliance is currently generating and dispensing hydrogen on a daily basis. SimpleFuel is reporting their system’s hydrogen generation and dispensing data on their website, separate from the technical data collection to evaluate the competition scoring criteria. Parties interested in attending can register for the Open House event by sending their contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
